All agencies in the Emirates give the general cleanliness of the streets, squares and roads in the Emirates very great importance, and accordingly, Abu Dhabi Police has updated its law related to throwing garbage from the car.
Penalty for removing waste from the car
Abu Dhabi Police explained that violators who throw garbage and waste from cars on the road will be subject to Article 71 of the UAE Traffic Law.
The fine for this traffic violation amounts to about 1,000 UAE dirhams, and six traffic points are also imposed on drivers who cause this violation.
Police urge consideration of environmental safety
During the activities of the “Our City is Beautiful” conference, which was organized by the city of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to adhere to and alert their passengers to throw garbage and waste in the designated places.
It also called on Abu Dhabi Police to take into account environmental safety and public health, and to participate in promoting positive behaviour.

Warning against using electric bicycles
Brigadier General Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, also confirmed that the police are very keen to enhance traffic safety for members of society, noting that the Directorate enhanced traffic awareness for families and children during the event.
Abu Dhabi Police also warned everyone of the danger of using electric bicycles (scooters) on public roads.

Continuing drivers’ awareness campaigns in the UAE
It is also worth noting that the UAE Police issued several laws related to imposing strict penalties on those who commit the violation of throwing waste on the road.
The police also stressed their keenness to continue their efforts to educate road users to avoid uncivilized behavior that distorts the environment and the civilized appearance.
