Boards displaying the distinctive grey and white Salik branding have recently appeared at various entrances of Dubai Mall, signaling the imminent introduction of paid parking for visitors.
Introduction of Salik Branding at Dubai Mall
Boards displaying the branding of the UAE's road toll operator, Salik, have been strategically placed throughout various entrances of Dubai Mall, signaling the imminent introduction of paid parking for its patrons. The grey and white Salik logos now adorn parking entry points, heralding a new phase as Dubai Mall prepares to implement parking fees starting July 1. Notably, despite the prominent signage, there were no visible barriers or surveillance cameras observed in the parking areas.
Preparation for Paid Parking
Effective from the specified date, paid parking will be enforced at Dubai Mall in collaboration with Salik Company, targeting the Grand, Cinema, and Fashion Parking sections. Concurrently, the Zabeel and Fountain View parking areas will continue to offer complimentary parking services, at least for the immediate future.
Within the mall premises, informational signs outlining the parking rates have been strategically positioned near several elevators. Initially, visitors will enjoy a grace period of four hours on weekdays and extended to six hours on weekends, during which no charges will apply. Subsequently, a fee structure will be enforced for each additional hour spent at the mall. The tariff varies, starting from Dh20 and escalating up to Dh1000 for durations exceeding 24 hours of parking use.
This development marks a significant shift in Dubai Mall’s parking policy, aiming to streamline access and manage parking availability efficiently. The introduction of paid parking, in collaboration with Salik, seeks to optimize parking utilization and enhance the overall visitor experience. As such, these measures are anticipated to have a notable impact on how patrons access and utilize parking facilities at one of the world’s largest and most visited shopping destinations.
