Urgent statement from Dubai Police to all citizens and residents regarding the weather condition

Abdallah Shahin - | UAE

Yesterday, Dubai Police implemented various strategies to improve traffic flow amidst the rainy weather and oscillations.

The Dubai Police's General Traffic Department has increased its presence at intersections and main roads to guide traffic and offer immediate aid to street users. In response to the current weather conditions in the country, which include rain, varying winds, thunder, lightning, and low visibility, the department has urged the public to exercise caution and decrease their speeds. When traversing roadways, it is advisable to steer clear of areas characterized by meandering valleys and water bodies, as well as to refrain from visiting coastal regions and beaches.

Brigadier General Jumaa bin Suwaidan, the Acting Director of the General Traffic Department, emphasized the importance of adhering to preventive measures, complying with traffic laws and regulations, reducing speeds, refraining from using mobile devices while driving to mitigate the risk of severe accidents, maintaining an adequate safety distance commensurate with the prevailing circumstances, and ensuring the safety of all components within the vehicle. It is advisable to refrain from changing lanes unless absolutely required, strictly adhere to turn signals, abstain from using hazard lights while operating a vehicle, and maintain lane adherence.

In the event of a minor accident, he urged drivers to refrain from stopping in the middle of the road to assess the damage, promptly remove vehicles from the road, and maintain a safe distance from them. In the event that the vehicle sustains significant damage and the driver is rendered incapable of relocating it, it is imperative for the driver to employ warning signals and ensure the safety of both themselves and their companions. Subsequently, position the cautionary triangle behind the car at an adequate distance to notify approaching vehicles, subsequently disembark from the vehicle entirely, proceed off the road, and contact the authorities.

Furthermore, the Dubai Police General Command has declared on its "X" platform account the provision of a "To Whom It May Concern Certificate" on the official Dubai Police website. This certificate pertains to vehicle damage caused by weather conditions, which has been exacerbated by the country's current weather fluctuations and heavy rainfall.

The service was formerly accessible via the Dubai Police smart application and the Dubai Police website. It necessitated the customer to submit an electronic application, subsequently bringing their vehicle to the nearest police station for inspection and confirmation of the damage. Following this, an electronic "To Whom It May Concern" certificate was issued to the customer.

According to Dubai Police, in the present situation, it is no longer necessary for customers to physically bring their vehicles to the police station. Instead, they can simply access the Dubai Police website, apply for the certificate package service, select the certificate service (to whom it may concern), and then choose natural disasters. The individual includes photographs of his impaired automobile, and within a span of one working day, he acquires a certificate (to whom it may concern).

It is imperative to adhere to preventive measures, comply with traffic laws and regulations, decrease speeds, and refrain from using mobile devices while operating a vehicle.
