The President of the United Arab Emirates announced the launch of the new Emirati Indian Cash Card with many wonderful features.
If you are traveling from India to the UAE, you will no longer need to bring vast sums of cash or stacks of credit cards.
Simply obtain the Jaywan Card, which is based on the Indian RuPay credit and debit card network.
RuPay is the Indian equivalent of MasterCard and Visa.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, unveiled the local payment card on Tuesday, February 13.
This means that RuPay cards issued in India will be accepted in the UAE.
Users will be charged in local currency, removing the need to convert currencies.
On Tuesday, several bilateral agreements were inked, including one that agreed to link India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with the UAE's Aani payment systems in order to simplify cross-border transactions between the two countries.
The National Payments Corporation of India developed UPI, an Indian immediate payment system, whereas Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the UAE's central bank, manages Aani, a UAE-based instant payment platform.
RuPay cards are trusted throughout India because they include a number of security measures, such as a chip for safe transactions and an inbuilt microprocessor circuit containing cardholder information.
