The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (Mohre) announced on Friday that it had sentenced more than 1,300 private enterprises in the United Arab Emirates to penalties for violating Emiratization standards between the middle of 2022 and May 16, 2024.
Mohre reports that these 1,379 companies illegally engaged 2,170 different UAE nationals.
In order to meet the minimum requirement of ten percent by the year 2026, private enterprises in the country are expected to raise the percentage of their staff that is comprised of Emiratis by two percent from year to year.
According to the information that was acquired from the middle of 2022 until May 2024, Mohre stated that there are already more than 97,000 Emiratis working in around 20,000 private firms across the country.
