A Co-Working Hub at Burjuman Metro Station
WO-RK, a new co-working space in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently debuted at Dubai's Burjuman Metro Station, offering commuters a convenient office environment within one of the city's busiest transit hubs. Officially opened on Tuesday, June 25, WO-RK provides a vibrant workspace that caters to individuals seeking to work on the go, with daily rates starting at Dh35.
Prices and Amenities
Shahzad Bhatti, founder of The Co-Spaces, explained the pricing options available at WO-RK: "Currently, we have promotional rates and regular rates as follows: a day pass for Dh35, part-time membership at Dh200 per month (allowing 30 hours of usage), and full-time membership for Dh650 per month with unlimited access." The space also includes amenities such as a pantry with complimentary water and coffee, enhancing the work experience.
Designed to accommodate up to 100 people, WO-RK operates from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays initially. Bhatti highlighted the strategic choice of Burjuman Metro Station by RTA due to its high traffic volume, indicating potential future expansions to other metro stations if successful.
Located within RTA's Dubai Metro network, WO-RK @Burjuman Metro not only offers easy accessibility but also promotes sustainable commuting solutions by reducing the need for car travel. "This flexible workspace will facilitate more business setups in Dubai," Bhatti noted, acknowledging the city's entrepreneurial spirit and the growing demand for hybrid work environments among freelancers and professionals.
Bhatti emphasized the versatility of WO-RK, catering to various needs beyond traditional office settings. "Sometimes, users need a change of environment away from distractions," he mentioned, illustrating the space's appeal to a diverse demographic, including students and employees of all ages.
Originally inspired by the co-working trends he observed in London, Bhatti established The Co-Spaces as a certified business incubator by Dubai SME, aiming to foster innovation and support Dubai's business ecosystem. The launch of WO-RK @Burjuman Metro aligns with RTA's strategic objectives under Dubai Urban Plan 2040, aimed at enhancing urban living standards and accessibility across the city.
Spanning 4,000 square feet, WO-RK @Burjuman Metro offers flexible arrangements, including private offices, meeting rooms, and open-plan areas, catering to a dynamic work environment that promotes productivity and work-life balance. By integrating such hybrid workspaces within public transit nodes, RTA aims to mitigate traffic congestion, reduce carbon footprints, and create sustainable urban environments conducive to growth and innovation.
WO-RK @Burjuman Metro represents a significant step towards enhancing Dubai's urban landscape by providing accessible, flexible workspace solutions that meet the evolving needs of modern professionals. As Dubai continues to evolve as a global city, initiatives like WO-RK underscore its commitment to fostering innovation, accessibility, and sustainable development in urban planning and transportation.
