A statement from Emirates Airlines and Flydubai regarding their international flights

Abdallah Shahin - | UAE

Emirates Airlines and Flydubai have reported a consistent growth in the number of destinations served by their network worldwide. This includes the addition of new international destinations across all six continents, as well as an increase in the number of flights and available seats to existing destinations. For both the transportation of passengers and the transportation of goods.

Based on the data obtained by Emirates Today, the combined total number of destinations for the two carriers has now reached 280 worldwide. The Emirates network covers 151 destinations across six continents, including 10 cities served by the cargo fleet in over 70 countries and territories globally. On the other hand, the Flydubai network has expanded to include 129 destinations in 58 countries, with over 75 of these destinations not having direct air links with Dubai before or not being previously served by direct flights from the emirate.

"Fly Emirates"

Emirates Airlines has recommenced its flights to Tokyo Haneda, expanding its reach to further locations. In the fiscal year 2023-2024, the airline has expanded its operations to 29 destinations within its network and introduced daily flights to Montreal, Canada.

Emirates Airlines has entered into code-sharing arrangements and collaboration agreements with other airlines to expand its coverage to more destinations. As a result, the airline now serves a total of 151 overseas stations.

Emirates Airlines expanded its operations by introducing the Airbus A380, its main aircraft, and premium economy class to more cities this year. This expansion was made possible by adding 16 newly modernized aircraft to its fleet, which were equipped with the latest distinctive products offered by the airline. The entire modernization program, which included these upgrades, cost a total of two billion US dollars.

As of March 31, the airline operates flights to 49 locations using its Airbus A380 aircraft. Additionally, passengers can enjoy the premium economy class experience on flights to and from 15 cities worldwide.

Emirates Airlines is to recommence operations in Nigeria from October 1st, offering a daily route between Dubai and Lagos. This will offer consumers additional choices and facilitate connecting flights from major Nigerian towns to Dubai and beyond.

Emirates Airlines has declared its plan to recommence its operations to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, by offering a daily flight commencing from November 4th. This additional service will complement its existing trip to Glasgow, resulting in a total of 14 weekly flights connecting Scotland with Emirates Airlines.

"Fly Dubai"

Starting from the start of 2024, Flydubai has initiated its air travel services to Mombasa in Kenya, Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia, as well as Al-Jawf and the Red Sea in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Flydubai is planning to extend its network in Europe by introducing flights to four additional destinations: Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius. These new routes will be operational from August to October this year. Flydubai has become the inaugural national airline to offer non-stop flights from Dubai to these destinations.

Flydubai will expand its network on the European continent by adding new destinations to its stations this year. This will bring the total number of destinations in Europe to 44, spread across 21 countries. With this expansion, travelers from Dubai will have a wide range of options. Overall, flydubai's global network will have a total of 129 destinations in 58 countries.

Aircraft fleet refers to a group of airplanes owned or operated by a certain organization or company.

The combined fleet of the two carriers consists of 346 aircraft, with Emirates having 260 aircraft with an average age of 10.1 years, and Flydubai operating a modern and active fleet of 86 Boeing 737 aircraft.
