RTA UAE announces free parking hours during Ramadan 2024

Ahmed Moawad - | UAE

The Roads and Transport Authority in the UAE issued free parking hours for public parking in the UAE on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. The Authority explained that there are some free parking hours throughout the city of Dubai during iftar hours.

The Authority explained during its issued statement, which included a schedule for paid parking during the month of Ramadan, that the new fees will become effective as of next week.

The authority said that these decisions come within the framework of making it easier for citizens and residents to find a parking space, especially with the holding of collective iftar parties throughout the city of Dubai.

This is considered an extremely difficult matter for many Dubai residents, especially immediately after sunset, and the matter has become much easier, especially after the recent decision issued by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai.

Fees are scheduled to be imposed on these parking lots starting next Monday. Fees will be imposed from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and fees will be imposed again from 8 p.m. until midnight.

Parking will be completely free for two hours a day during breakfast, and in the Tecom area, parking fees will apply from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., so that parking will become free until 8 a.m. the next day.

While an exception has been made for multi-level parking, fees will be charged throughout the day and night and during Iftar time during the month of Ramadan.

It is noteworthy that public parking is completely free on public holidays and Sundays throughout the city of Dubai.

The Roads and Transport Authority also announced the hours of the authority’s transportation services during the month of Ramadan. There will be no changes to the metro service and the usual schedule will remain the same.

This also applies to the tram, and bus routes will be synchronized with the traffic schedule. Water taxis will also be stopped in Dubai during iftar and Friday prayer times.

It is worth noting that the UAE governments have decided to reduce the number of working hours for private sector employees by two hours per day during the month of Ramadan, and the ministries and federal agencies will work from 9 am to 2:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 9 am to noon on days. Friday.

It is also mentioned that schools will reduce teaching hours to a maximum of 5 hours per day during the month of Ramadan, and educational institutions are required to end Friday at noon to accommodate Friday prayers.

Do not stop in prohibited places to avoid obstructing traffic

Integrated Transport in Abu Dhabi noted the necessity of not stopping in prohibited places to avoid obstructing traffic. It also decided to amend the peak times in the month of Ramadan, during which the “Darb” traffic toll system fees are applied, to be from 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning. In the morning period, and from 2:00 to 4:00 in the evening period, from Monday to Saturday, and the fees will be free on Sunday in order to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during those times that witness a significant increase in traffic and movement during the month of Ramadan.

Public parking in Dubai

It is noteworthy that public parking lots in Dubai carry the following symbols: (A, B, E, F), as these symbols reflect times, tariffs, and requirements for uses. For example, areas with category (A) bear all streets within the area between Financial Center Street and Street. Zabeel II, Happiness Street 312, and Street 308, parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road in the Bur Dubai area.

It is also mentioned that the tariff for parking service fees in Dubai for areas bearing the code A is two dirhams per half hour, knowing that this pricing varies according to the area code, which expresses the type and size of commercial and residential uses.
