The UAE issues new facilities for employee residency and work permit procedures

Ahmed Moawad - | UAE

The UAE government has issued new facilities for residency procedures and work permits for employees in the UAE. The new decisions include a new work package, and these facilities include workers in private sector companies in the UAE.

The UAE government explained that the first phase of the “New Action Package” initiative is scheduled to be implemented in Dubai, after which it will be gradually expanded to include the other emirates.

Through the new work package, the government aims to serve the business community by simplifying and accelerating procedures for private sector companies.

For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the Emirates, announced that the government recently launched the “Zero Bureaucracy” initiative to simplify procedures and enhance efficiency within the federal government.

The Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, added that the work package is scheduled to restore 62 million working days that were previously allocated to renewing residency and work contracts within government frameworks.

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum explained that this project is expected to reduce one million procedures annually, which will achieve significant savings for both the government and private sectors. We would like to thank all federal and local authorities for their invaluable cooperation in realizing this project.

Through the action package, the UAE government aims to provide service to the business community by simplifying and accelerating procedures for private sector companies. The project provides a single platform for completing employment services, including renewal, cancellation, medical examination, and fingerprinting.

This initiative revealed by the government comes as a result of close cooperation between federal and local government agencies to enable customers to complete their transactions in the fewest possible steps through the digital platforms where the service is available.

It is worth noting that these platforms include the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and Dubai Health. The project is supported by the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai.

Directives for digital transformation and reducing government procedures

It is worth noting that this initiative issued by the government in the United Arab Emirates came in conjunction with the UAE’s trends in digital transformation and quality of services, and the “Zero Government Bureaucracy” program to simplify and reduce government procedures and eliminate unnecessary procedures and requirements in government work, in a way that raises levels of efficiency, quality and flexibility. government in the country.

Reducing procedures, re-engineering services and reducing their duration

It is worth noting that the Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launched a project some time ago to zero out the government bureaucracy to reduce procedures, re-engineer services, and reduce their duration in the federal government. Today, we are launching the first of this government movement through the “Work Package” project, which works to facilitate, simplify, and shorten residency procedures.
