The Roads and Transport Authority in the United Arab Emirates announced very important decisions coinciding with the bad weather conditions, and decided to cancel all driving and road tests scheduled for Monday.
The Roads and Transport Authority confirmed in press statements to Al Khaleej Times newspaper that all tests for obtaining a driving license in Dubai have been canceled due to unstable weather conditions this week.
Many roads are flooded with water
The constant rain has rendered the roads impassable as they have become immersed in water following the continuous rains since Sunday. Motorists had to wade across water-logged roads in the morning to get to work.
The Roads and Transport Authority stated that owing to the weather and to ensure the safety of students and trainers, the driving tests scheduled for today have been rescheduled.
Due to inclement weather, the UAE's Roads and Transport Authority advised trainees that the exam would be rescheduled for a different date. The decision was made by the authority to keep the trainees from driving in the rain.
The Roads and Transport Authority also tweeted, "Emergency teams are treating the impact of rainfall in Dubai." These ongoing efforts are intended to ensure that traffic flow is restored seamlessly.
Driving instructions in the UAE due to bad weather conditions
The Transport Authority encouraged motorists to exercise caution while driving in inclement conditions. Here are some safety tips.
- Increase the safety space between you and the car ahead of you.
- Follow the traffic signals.
- Drive with care and prudence.
- Check the serviceability of the brakes and tires.
It is worth noting that the UAE's National Center of Meteorology reported that atmospheric instability was deepening again early this morning, with cumulonimbus clouds forming and heavy rain falling in various regions of the country, as well as downward winds gusting up to 70 km/h.
The center stated that the number of clouds will progressively diminish beginning in the afternoon, and the likelihood of rain falling at night will decrease.
