Learn how to receive end of service benefits after leaving United Arab Emirates.
Following your departure from Emirates, the process of collecting end-of-service benefits began.
Following the cancellation of the residency permit, the United Arab Emirates resident is interested in knowing whether or not the bank will freeze the account.
According to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), an employer is required to pay an employee's end-of-service benefits within fourteen (fourteen) days following the employee's last day of employment. According to Article 53 of Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 on the Regulation of Employment Relations, "The employer shall pay the employee within fourteen days after the expiration of the contract all of his salary and other entitlements provided for in this Decree-Law and its implementing resolutions, the contract, or the establishment bylaws." The law included this provision.
Based on the provided information and the current regulations in the United Arab Emirates, it seems that leaving the country after the revocation of your residency visa shouldn't immediately lead to the freezing of your salary account.
On the other hand, we recommend that individuals who leave the country and have no plans to return to the UAE for residency purposes close any bank accounts they may have in the UAE. An individual has the ability to close their bank account in the United Arab Emirates, according to Article 9(b) of UAE Central Bank Regulation No. 29/2011 dated February 23, 2011, on Regulations Regarding Bank Loans and Other Services Offered to Individual Customers. This regulation states that "commercial banks may open all types of accounts for their retail customers, but in such cases, they must abide by the standard agreement mentioned under Article (12) of these Regulations."
In the event that a customer makes a request to close their account and end their business relationship with the bank, the bank ought to comply with the customer's request without imposing a penalty, provided that the account opening date is more than one year in the past.
Under all circumstances, the bank must terminate the account and produce a suitable certificate within a maximum of seven (7) days from the submission date.
