Etihad Airways is set to recruit an additional 1,000 cabin crew members by the end of the year, reflecting its continued growth and expansion in the aviation sector.
Etihad's Expansion and Recruitment Drive
This announcement coincides with World Cabin Crew Day, during which Etihad launched a global recruitment campaign.
The airline’s ambitious growth strategy is evident, as it has already hired over 1,000 cabin crew members this year and now plans to onboard approximately 1,000 more by year’s end. Etihad is seeking individuals who can deliver exceptional hospitality, and it offers the unique benefits of travel and adventure that come with a career in aviation.
Etihad's dedication to quality service has been recognized, with the airline’s team being named “Leading Cabin Crew 2024” by the World Travel Awards Middle East edition. The airline’s cabin crew is remarkably diverse, comprising individuals from 112 nationalities, all of whom are based in Abu Dhabi.
Benefits and Compensation
In addition to a competitive salary, Etihad provides its cabin crew with fully furnished modern accommodation, medical insurance, allowances, and discounts on dining, shopping, leisure activities, and car hire. The crew also enjoys extensive travel benefits, allowing access to a wide array of destinations around the globe.
Etihad places a strong emphasis on career progression, with 31 percent of its cabin crew promoted within the past year. Many have also moved into corporate roles at the airline’s headquarters, pursuing careers in various fields such as marketing, guest experience, network operations, aviation training, and finance.
Dr. Nadia Bastaki, Etihad’s Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer, highlighted the importance of World Cabin Crew Day in celebrating the significant contributions of the cabin crew to the airline’s success. She emphasized that as Etihad grows, the airline is looking for exceptional individuals who share its ambition and commitment to providing outstanding hospitality and a remarkable experience for its guests. She also noted that Abu Dhabi offers a vibrant and dynamic environment for the crew to enjoy.
Etihad’s cabin crew operates flights to more than 70 destinations across continents, including Australia, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The airline is expanding its network further, with new routes to Bali and Jaipur starting this June, alongside seasonal destinations like Mykonos, Santorini, Nice, Malaga, and Antalya.
Cabin crew will have the opportunity to work on Etihad’s state-of-the-art fleet, including the Airbus A380s, which service routes between Abu Dhabi and major cities like London, New York, and soon Paris. Other aircraft in the fleet include Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Boeing 777s, Airbus A350s, and the Airbus A320 and A321 families.
