Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has undertaken significant improvements to the internal roads and lighting in Al Qusais Industrial Areas 1 to 5, reflecting a commitment to enhancing infrastructure across the emirate.
Al Qusais industrial areas are undergoing infrastructure enhancement
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, emphasized that these projects are in alignment with the visionary directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.
Empowering Communities Through Enhanced Connectivity
The internal roads project in Al Qusais Industrial Areas has significantly improved connectivity by linking with four main streets, facilitating smoother access and egress for over 320 workshops, 25 residential buildings, shops, and educational facilities. This enhancement benefits an estimated 60,000 residents in the area and has tripled the road capacity from 500 to 1,500 vehicles per hour in both directions.
Extensive Road and Streetlighting Projects in Residential Areas
The RTA has also completed comprehensive road and streetlighting projects in four residential areas: Margham, Lahbab, Al Lisaili, and Hatta, covering a total distance of 35 km. These initiatives aim to integrate emerging residential communities with the existing road network, enhancing accessibility and connectivity for residents.
In Margham, road works along the Dubai-Al Ain Road near Skydive Dubai have been completed, serving approximately 1,100 residents. Similarly, Lahbab has witnessed road improvements and streetlighting along the Dubai-Hatta Road near the Lahbab Camel Racing Track, benefiting over 3,000 residents.
In Al Lisaili, enhancements encompass around 7 km of road improvements and lighting works in the Seih Al Salam area near the Last Exit and Al Qudra Lakes, benefiting approximately 2,900 residents. Moreover, significant improvements in Hatta's Suhaila area include a 2 km road extension, the establishment of a rainwater drainage network, and the installation of street lighting, serving approximately 6,000 residents.
These infrastructure projects not only address immediate connectivity needs but also contribute to the sustainable development of urban areas in Dubai. By enhancing road networks, improving accessibility, and providing adequate lighting, the RTA fosters a conducive environment for residential growth and economic prosperity. These efforts align with the broader goals of urban planning and development, ensuring that Dubai remains a vibrant and livable city for its residents.
As Dubai continues to evolve and grow, the RTA remains steadfast in its commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure and urban amenities. Through strategic investments and collaborative partnerships, the authority seeks to address the evolving needs of the community while upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency. By completing these vital projects in Al Qusais industrial areas and residential zones, the RTA demonstrates its unwavering dedication to improving the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
