Dh500,000 fine - New regulation on official emblems in Dubai for misuse
The symbol may be used by private organisations as long as they have the Dubai Ruler's or his representative's prior consent.
Dubai is required by law to have a unique logo, "one that mirrors its values and principles." The new law was unveiled on Monday. The emirate of Dubai owns this emblem, which is protected by law number 17 of 2023 and its rules.
As the ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. He issued the law.

The insignia may be used at official functions as well as on government publications, websites, and other materials. It can be used by private organisations as long as they get the Dubai Ruler's or his representative's prior authorisation.
A sentence of three months to five years in jail can be imposed for misusing the insignia. Dh100,000 to Dh500,000 in fines might be imposed on those who break them.
Users are required to "completely discontinue" using it within 30 days, unless they receive prior authorization to continue using it longer. Governmental organisations and those with authorization to use the insignia are examples of exceptions.
The laws that come into force on the day they are published in the Official Gazette will be put into effect by the Chairman of Dubai's Ruler Court issuing the appropriate rulings.
official emblems in UAE
Two years after the country's independence in 1971, on December 9, 1973, the United Arab Emirates formally adopted its logo, which was changed in 2008. It is reminiscent of various Arab states' coats of arms and insignia.
It is composed of a golden falcon (Hawk of Quraish) with a disc displaying the flag of the United Arab Emirates and seven stars signifying the seven federated Emirates in the centre. The falcon's seven tail feathers stand for the seven Emirates. The name of the federation is written on a red parchment in Kufic script, which the falcon is grasping with its talons.
Before the insignia was changed on March 22, 2008, the falcon had a red disc inside it that displayed an Arab sailboat encircled by a chain.
