6-day Eid Al Adha holiday: Summer vacation begins early for residents in UAE

MoMansour - | UAE

Vacation time has arrived early for locals as the UAE's Eid Al Adha break falls just before the summer break. To commemorate the Islamic holiday, the UAE will have a six-day weekend from Tuesday, June 27, to Sunday, July 2.

a resident of Moldova in Dubai Inga Steytler has already begun her holiday and returned to her native nation. "That's because this year's Eid celebrations fall right before summer vacations. We are all quite eager to visit my parents and are all very excited about it.

The mother of two said that her children's education will not be impacted by the early vacation. "As it is, schools typically hold year-end events and teacher training sessions during the last week of school. We reasoned, "Why not take advantage of this week?

The inhabitant of Dubai had initially intended to take this week off from work. "However, we later changed our minds. We reasoned, "Why spend more money when we might use it to get tickets and have a longer vacation?

Steytler is one of hundreds of UAE citizens travelling by combining a portion of their summer leave with the Eid Al Adha holiday.

According to the most recent statistics from flight comparison website SkyScanner, an astounding 87 percent of UAE travellers want to travel during the Eid vacation. During this holiday season, the agency said it is observing clever UAE tourists make the most of their yearly vacation, "as more than half of travellers search for trips that are a week long or less and 42% share they prefer shorter flight times."

Prices on all routes are not increasing.

Ayoub El Mamoun, a travel specialist for Skyscanner, claims that for 65% of UAE passengers, cost is a crucial element in deciding whether they will travel during Eid.

The good news is that there are still affordable options for travellers who maintain flexibility, are open to learning about new places to visit, and, most importantly, are knowledgeable about how to shop around and compare fares, even during busy times like Eid or summer, which would typically be more expensive times to travel.

Holiday Factory, a travel agency, sells all-inclusive packages starting at Dh2,800 on its website. The average price of a vacation package per person, according to online travel firm Musafir.com, is around Dh4,100, "which is considered affordable for leisure trips." An average vacation package lasts four nights and five days.

According to the organisation, many citizens are choosing to take two vacations: a brief one for Eid and then a longer one for the summer break.

The majority of UAE citizens (74%) and groups of friends (19%) are planning to travel together, according to statistics from SkyScanner. The three most common travel experiences are going to see family and friends overseas, going on outdoor adventures, and taking leisurely beach vacations.
