After Musk bought Twitter in October, he made the following statement: "It is important that we get rid of neglected accounts." Musk has recently signalled that he prefers to archive dormant Twitter accounts rather than erase them altogether.
"We will be purge accounts that have not had any activity for the past several years, so they are likely to see a decrease in the number of followers," the billionaire, who is the most famous person in the world at the moment and the owner of the "Twitter" social networking site, stated in a tweet.
In light of the recent announcement from the "Twitter" platform, the process of removing inactive accounts may also help Musk achieve his goal of increasing Twitter's revenues. This is especially true in light of a January 2018 New York Times report that Twitter was considering selling usernames to generate new revenue.
