The Ministry of Human Resources in the UAE has already begun implementing the decision to impose financial fines against residents who are not committed to participating in the unemployment insurance system in the country, while also imposing financial fines against residents who are not committed to paying the insurance sections based on the agreed upon payment periodicity.

Start imposing fines immediately

The Ministry of Human Resources explained that the legal deadline it announced regarding participation in the unemployment insurance system, which was announced last October, has already expired.

This period was granted to all workers, both citizens and residents, to avoid exposure to financial penalties that are applied immediately.

14% of employees in cabins are not compliant with the insurance system

According to what the Ministry announced and was reported in several newspapers this morning, the financial fines it imposed included about 14% of employees who did not comply with the insurance system.

While the number of subscribers to the unemployment insurance system reached more than 6 million and 700 thousand subscribers, both in the government sector and the public sector, both citizens and residents.

Fines of up to 400 dirhams against violators

The Ministry of Human Resources in the State of Ghamarat indicated that a fine of 400 dirhams will be imposed against resident and citizen employees who do not participate in the insurance system.

While fines of up to 200 AED will be imposed on employees who are not committed to paying installments on the specified dates.

How to pay fines for those not adhering to the insurance system

The Ministry allows payment of the fines imposed against violators through the Ministry’s application for smart phones, or through its website on the Internet.

Financial fines for those not adhering to the marine insurance system can also be paid through approved business service centres.

The necessity of paying fines to avoid administrative procedures

The Ministry called for the necessity of paying the financial fines immediately, in addition to the administrative measures that will be taken against those who are not committed to paying.

The matter may lead to them not being granted a new work permit, and the value of the fine will also be deducted from the worker’s wages or from his end-of-service gratuity.
