Etihad Airways announces a new flight system in the UAE

Within the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways has announced the introduction of a new flight system.

One of the most popular destinations for intercontinental flights is the Middle East. Its strategic position has allowed it to thrive in passenger connections across North America, Europe, Asia, and even Oceania. Some travellers may find it worthwhile to spend the night in transit since these lengthy flights sometimes run more than ten hours. Travellers with Etihad Airways are entitled to stay at such hotel.

Spend a night or two here

Offer valid for travellers on JetBlue codeshare or Etihad-operated flights passing through Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). Depending on their time and money, tourists may choose from a variety of alternatives while visiting the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a Louvre, entertainment parks, city tours, and infinite shopping can all be found in Abu Dhabi, the biggest Emirate.

A complimentary two-night stay in a three-star hotel is part of the free stopover package. 24-hour check-in and free in-room WiFi are two more amenities. In order to qualify, a passenger must reserve a seat on the airline's website at least three days in advance of their intended arrival at the hotel, with a minimum transit duration of 24 hours in Abu Dhabi. The following are some of the free partners:

  • Aloft Abu Dhabi
  • Centro Al Manhal
  • City Seasons Al Hamra Hotel
  • Golden Tulip Abu Dhabi Downtown
  • Millennium Al Rawdah Hotel
  • Premier Inn Abu Dhabi Capital Centre Hotel
  • Premier Inn Abu Dhabi International Airport Hotel
  • Southern Sun Abu Dhabi
  • Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri

Travellers seeking a more affluent choice have the option to book a "Premium stopover" in a posh four- or five-star hotel. With discounts of "Up to 40% off Abu Dhabi's most exclusive hotels," the airline seems to be subsidising the cost of the hotels rather than paying the taxes. A 24-hour check-in window, WiFi, and a breakfast buffet are included in the package, which may be extended to four nights. Among our preferred partner hotels are the following:

  • Aloft Abu Dhabi
  • Anantara Eastern Mangroves Abu Dhabi Hotel
  • Andaz Capital Gate, Abu Dhabi – a Concept by Hyatt
  • Bab Al Qasr Hotel
  • Centro Al Manhal
  • Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi
  • Park Rotana Abu Dhabi
  • Premier Inn Abu Dhabi Capital Centre Hotel
  • Premier Inn Abu Dhabi International Airport Hotel
  • Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri
  • Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri

For travellers with connecting durations less than 24 hours, there is a third alternative called "Transit Connect." Travellers staying in Abu Dhabi for ten to twenty-four hours may choose from three free hotels that are close to the airport and reachable by a free bus shuttle:

  • Premier Inn Abu Dhabi International Airport Hotel
  • Premier Inn Abu Dhabi Capital Centre Hotel
  • Aloft Abu Dhabi

The flight must cost more than $500 for a one-way ticket and $750 for a return ticket in order to be eligible for the complimentary hotel stay. Also, reservations must be made at least five days in advance of travel to Abu Dhabi.

The little print

Travellers wishing to benefit from the programme must be authorised to enter the nation. Passengers from qualified nations may do this upon arrival or with a pre-arranged visa to visit the UAE. The offer is not valid for hotel stays in Dubai or any other United Arab Emirates emirate, nor do the hotels provide free airport transfers. Direct reservations will not be permitted; instead, lead bookers who are at least 21 years old must make their reservations on Etihad.com.

Once the airfare has been purchased, you may add a hotel by using your reference number and last name. Additionally, a contact email is given. It is recommended by the website that travellers make any accommodations three days in advance. If you have an upcoming Emirates flight within the next three days, it never hurts to inquire.

The Abu Dhabi public transport system is also free to use if you want to tour the city without staying the night. Outside the departures area are bus stops. Even the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Yas Island are readily connected to the airport by the free A19 bus service.
