The Central Bank has mandated that any and all direct interactions with customers, carried out for the purpose of advertising or marketing banking products, loans, or credit cards, must be carried out with the explicit agreement of the customer, taking into account the customer's preferences.
It was emphasised by the "Central" that if customers do not give their explicit agreement to "subscribe," this indicates that they have chosen "not to participate" in promotional messages, regardless of the type of message they are receiving.
This was communicated to the central bank in the form of a circular in response to complaints that were received from clients of the bank over the excessive number of promotional messages and phone calls that were received throughout the day especially at unsuitable times.
In accordance with the circular published by "Central" , stating that "the licenced financial establishment must not contact the consumers who chose (not to participate) to receive promotional messages, in relation to future sales, advertising or promotional activities."
One more thing that is stated in the circular is that "the licenced financial facility (banks, financing companies, or others) is prohibited from marketing loans or financing and other services offered to consumers through direct contact via the phone."
The circular additionally stated: "The licenced financial facilities must behave professionally at all times when dealing with consumers, to refrain from urgently urgently or practicing any unjustified pressure on consumers, to get them to buy any product or financial service." The circular further stated: "The licenced financial facilities should not be sent, advertising materials and promotional materials directly to consumers, who are under the age of 18."
