The Ruler of Sharjah orders damage assessment from weather impacts

Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, announced a number of very important decisions coinciding with the end of the climate depression and the weather effects that a number of regions in the UAE witnessed last week, which caused serious damage.

It is His Majesty A member of the Supreme Council and the ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, issued a directive to the appropriate authorities in the emirate, instructing them to immediately begin analyzing and assessing the damage that was caused by the impacts of the meteorological condition that the emirate suffered.

In addition, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah issued an order to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure to restore the valley drains in the Emirate of Fujairah that had been blocked up. This had resulted in significant amounts of rainfall being accumulated in residential districts inside the city of Kalba.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah also directed the Sharjah Police General Command and the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority to work and coordinate with the Department of Social Services, the emirate’s municipalities, and the competent authorities that provide logistical support in operations to confront the effects of the weather condition, to begin assessing the damage, and to accelerate the provision of all possible means of support, which Ensures the stability of residents living in Sharjah.

The efforts of the field work teams, which included employees of government and military departments and bodies, as well as volunteers, both citizens and residents, were greatly appreciated by His Highness. These teams made a significant effort to combat the weather condition and assist all members of society in preserving their lives and accelerating the return of normal life to all cities and regions of the emirate.
