Regulations governing the distribution of analgesics and dietary supplements in the United Arab Emirates, restrictions have been put in place by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection to govern the sale, presentation, storage, and circulation of medical products such as analgesics and nutritional supplements that are supplied without a prescription in non-pharmaceutical institutions. These restrictions are intended to protect the public's health and safety. The regulations include the requirement that a medical product must be purchased from a medical warehouse in order to meet the criteria of being a medical product, having approval from the Ministry, and being able to be administered without a prescription. obtaining a license, storing it, and displaying it in locations that are specifically allocated for it are all required steps. The controls and obligations of non-pharmaceutical establishments that wish to sell medical products that are dispensed without a prescription include the obligation to purchase these products from a medical warehouse that has a license, as well as the obligation to store and display these products in locations that are specifically designated for them, in accordance with the approved storage conditions for these products. In addition to the obligation to put the agent’s label on the packages, in accordance with the approved rules in this regard, in addition to providing a system for measuring temperature and humidity in the places designated for storing and displaying medical products, provided that it is periodically calibrated by one of the accredited authorities in the country, and the Ministry stipulated obtaining approval from the facility licensing authority. to grant permission for the sale, display, storage, and circulation of medical products that fall under the decision's purview, as well as to retain a copy of the license granted by the non-pharmaceutical facility licensing authority that falls within the application's sphere of coverage for the approval.
Places that sell painkillers and nutritional supplements in the Emirates
There are locations in the Emirates where one can get analgesics and dietary supplements, Specifically, the Ministry permitted the sale, display, and storage of medical products that could be purchased without a doctor's prescription in non-pharmaceutical establishments that were subject to the local inspection and control authorities in each emirate. These establishments included hypermarkets, supermarkets, stores that sold nutritional supplements, sales outlets at gas stations, and any other entity. Others were published as a result of a decision made by the Minister.
Medical products prohibited for sale in non-pharmaceutical establishments in the UAE
