The government of the United Arab Emirates has released new instructions for travellers through airports in the United Arab Emirates about the disclosure of their cash in the event that these monies exceed the legal limit. These instructions are only applicable in the event that travellers are passing through airports in the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE advises travelers to disclose money that exceeds the allowable amount

The United Arab Emirates encourages visitors to report any sums of money that are in excess of the legal limit, Travellers, both nationals and residents of the United Arab Emirates, are advised by the government of the United Arab Emirates to comply with airport officials at the planned destination, to declare cash and commodities in their possession that may exceed the legal limits, and to provide information that is both clear and accurate.

Money that passengers are allowed to carry at UAE airports

The maximum amount of cash that travellers are permitted to carry through airports in the UAE, The digital government has confirmed that travellers leaving the country with more than 60,000 dirhams in cash or other financial instruments are required to disclose that information to customs officials. They have also emphasised the necessity for travellers to refer to and adhere to customs instructions in the country to which they will travel. Travellers can obtain customs information through the official websites of those countries, as well as through their embassies, consulates, and official missions accredited in the country.
