UAE's Growing Cinema Industry

In the wake of the epidemic, hiring has grown in the UAE and the local labor market has experienced exponential growth. Currently, a UAE-based company has ambitions to hire hundreds of workers and open 50 theatres throughout the UAE.

In order to manage the theaters, which will screen films in Arabic, Hindi, English, and other languages, Line Investments & Property, the shopping mall development and management division of Lulu Group International, entered into an arrangement with Star Cinemas.

Lulu Group's Ambitious Plans

Movie theaters are already present in malls. We are now expanding our partnership with Star Cinemas because they are bringing all of the movies to the GCC. Following the signing of the agreement, MA Ashraf Ali, executive director of Lulu Group International, claimed that the chance to collaborate on running theaters would be a great one.

Creating Jobs, Unveiling 50 Theatres

The business aims to open more than 50 cinemas, and each one will need at least 25 to 30 personnel to administer the property. Ali stated that they will need a "considerable amount" of labor to run the cinemas.

The agreement to add 22 more screens to the 76 screens that Star Cinemas now operates was inked last week by Line Investments & Property and Star Cinemas. Ahmad Golchin, the founder and chairman of Phars Film & Stars Cinema, as well as other officials, joined MA Ashraf Ali at the ceremony.

The firms claim that, based on the number of screens, the JV's signing has elevated Star Cinemas to the position of second-largest theater operator in the UAE. In September 2023, 3 screens at Al Raha Mall, 9 screens at Al Wahda Mall, 6 screens at Al Foah Mall, and 4 screens at Barari Outlet Mall will open as a result of the agreement.

Additionally, the agreement will cover the opening of Star Cinemas at the RAK Mall in Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah Central Mall, and Dubai Silicon Oasis Mall.

Sharjah Central, RAK Mall, and Dubai Silicon Oasis will all soon begin construction, according to Golchin.
