Passengers flying with Emirates from Abu Dhabi can take a complimentary bus to Dubai International Airport.
Etihad Airways offers the same service to travellers flying from Dubai.

Travelling with Etihad
People who want to go to Abu Dhabi International Airport from Dubai can do so for free on an Etihad coach service.
The buses depart from the parking lot behind New Safestway Supermarket on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, near Al Wasl Centre, and take passengers directly to Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The one-way trip takes 75 minutes on the buses.
Coaches leave Dubai at 04.10, 06.05, 09.35, 11.40, 16.35, 18.05, 19.00, 20.40, 22.05, and 23.00, according to Etihad's schedule.
The Etihad coach departs Abu Dhabi Airport at 00.05, 01.05, 03.05, 07.20, 09.25, 14.30, 20.00, 20.25, 21.25, and 22.15.
Travellers who want to board the Etihad coach must have a valid flight ticket and should book their seats at least 24 hours in advance.

Travelling with Emirates
Anyone wishing to travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai by Emirates coach must book at least 48 hours in advance.
Passengers must also have a valid Emirates flight ticket to board the bus.
Passengers are picked up in front of the Emirates office on Corniche Road in Abu Dhabi at 03.00, 06.00, 09.30, 16.30, and 22.00, according to the company's website.
The bus drops passengers off at Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3 arrivals, and journeys to Abu Dhabi depart from the same location at 03.00, 06.30, 10.00, 15.00, and 23.00.
According to the Emirates website, the minimum connection time for inbound and departing passengers is two hours.
