Emirates Airlines Expansion in Mexico

Emirates Airlines has announced a significant extension of its codeshare cooperation with United Airlines, giving passengers access to nine additional Mexican destinations. This expansion deepens the growing cooperation between the two airlines by giving Emirates customers more connecting and travel options.

Connecting Mexico to the World

Customers of Emirates have access to eight other locations in Mexico in addition to Mexico City. With the addition of Mexico, the airline's enormous codeshare network with United has now expanded to include destinations outside of the US.

This expanded codeshare partnership facilitates seamless connections for passengers flying with Emirates from either Chicago or Houston to various leisure destinations in Mexico. Among the newly accessible Mexican points are Cancun, Cozumel, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, San Jose Del Cabo, Leon/Guanajuato, and Queretaro.

Enhanced Flexibility and Options

The collaboration also provides increased flexibility regarding flight timings, granting Emirates customers flying to Mexico City more choices in their travel plans. Passengers can either opt for Emirates' daily services from Dubai with a layover in Barcelona or individually book codeshare flights to Mexico City.

Global Reach

With the addition of these Mexican destinations, the expanded codeshare network now boasts 134 accessible destinations from United's US gateways. Additionally, travelers have access to nearly 100 more points across the United States, Canada, Central and South America, and the Caribbean through interline arrangements.

Booking and Travel Details

Tickets for codeshare destinations in Mexico are available through emirates.com and preferred travel agencies, with travel commencing from September 14. This enhanced network of Mexican destinations is expected to be particularly popular among passengers from the Middle East, India, South Africa, and other regions. Commonly frequented destinations for global travelers departing from Mexico include India, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and select points in Southeast Asia.

Emirates operates regular flights to Houston using its newest A380 aircraft. The airline also uses the Boeing 777 to fly seven times per week between Chicago and Dubai. With the aid of this vast network, travelers may easily arrange their international travel itineraries and take pleasure in a seamless travel experience.

Benefits for Passengers

The entire trip can be planned on a single ticket, allowing passengers to benefit from a variety of advantages such Emirates' generous baggage allowance and easy baggage check-through to their final destination. Additionally, if booked on codeshare routes, members of Emirates' frequent flyer program, Emirates Skywards, can accrue and redeem miles on codeshare flights of both airlines.

Baggage check-through applies to travel departing from Mexico. International travelers heading to Mexican destinations on Emirates and United codeshare flights must clear their baggage with US Customs at the initial point of entry, either Chicago or Houston.
