Air Arabia Abu Dhabi announces the launch of its first flight to Colombo

"Arabia Abu Dhabi," the pioneering low-cost airline based in Abu Dhabi, has unveiled its plans to launch direct flights to Bandaranaike International Airport on December 8, 2023.

Inaugural Flight to Bandaranaike International Airport

The airline's maiden direct flights will establish a vital link between the Emirati capital and Colombo, featuring a schedule of three weekly flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

CEO's Enthusiastic Announcement

Adel Al Ali, the CEO of Air Arabia Group, expressed his excitement about the significant milestone, stating, "We at 'Arabia Abu Dhabi' are delighted to announce the initiation of our inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to Colombo." His remarks underscore the airline's dedication to delivering seamless services for travellers and contributing to the advancement of the travel and tourism sectors in both the UAE and Sri Lanka.

Strategic Relocation and Technological Advancements

With the recent operations relocation to Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport, equipped with cutting-edge technologies, Al Ali emphasised the strategic importance of the new destination flights. The move reflects the airline's commitment to providing state-of-the-art services and playing a pivotal role in propelling the growth of the travel industry.

Commitment to Growth and Enhanced Connectivity

Maureen Bannerman, Chief Commercial Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, expressed satisfaction about the collaboration with "Arabia Abu Dhabi" in introducing this new route connecting Abu Dhabi with Colombo. She emphasised that this expansion aligns with the company's commitment to sustained growth and an increased number of flights departing from Abu Dhabi to global destinations. The continuous enhancement of connectivity, with direct flights to 28 destinations, positions "Arabia Abu Dhabi" as a key player in facilitating efficient air travel connections.

Direct flights from Terminal A

"Arabia Abu Dhabi" further solidifies its position by offering direct flights through a fleet comprising 10 Airbus A320 aircraft, all departing directly from Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport. This strategic approach supports the airline's goal of providing efficient air travel connections and contributes to the broader objectives of the aviation industry.
