A 6-day official holiday in the UAE soon for citizens and expatriates

rawda samy - | UAE

There will soon be a six-day official vacation in the United Arab Emirates for both nationals and expatriates.

Dates for the most likely Ramadan in 2024 have been announced.

There is a possibility that the actual dates of the festival and the holy month will change depending on when the crescent moon is perceived.

An authorized expert has stated that the holy month of Ramadan will most likely begin on Tuesday, March 12, according to the most recent astronomical calculations. Due to the fact that the month of fasting is anticipated to stretch for the full thirty days, it is possible that citizens will be granted a six-day break in order to celebrate the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr.

In the Islamic Hijri calendar, the sighting of the crescent moon historically determines the start and end dates of each month. The actual dates of the holy month and the festival are subject to the sighting of the crescent moon.

"The moon is highly visible with the naked eye in many locations on March 11, according to astronomical maps, which suggests that the following day, March 12, is a possible date for the beginning of the month of Ramadan. There is a significant amount of vegetation on the maps, which indicates that the conditions are favorable for viewing the new crescent moon with the naked eye.

The sighting of the crescent moon, which signifies the beginning of a new lunar month, is historically considered to be the beginning of the Islamic calendar's monthly cycle. In a similar manner, the sighting of the following crescent moon is what determines the end of the month," she stated.

It is anticipated that the United Arab Emirates' moon sighting committee will meet on March 10. The eleventh of March will be the first day of Ramadan, if it is observed. In the event that this does not occur, the year will officially begin on March 12th.

Six days off for the holiday of Eid al-Fitr in the United Arab Emirates.

The expert predicted that the holy month would last a total of thirty days, according to astronomical predictions. Should this be the case, the thirty-first day of Ramadan will be on Wednesday, April 10th.

6-day holiday for Eid Al Fitr in UAE.

According to the list of holidays that the government of the United Arab Emirates has issued for both the public and private sectors, people will be given a break to celebrate Eid al-Fitr beginning on Ramadan 29 and continuing until Shawwal 3.

On the Gregorian calendar, the dates that correspond to the astronomical calculations are from Tuesday, April 9 (Ramadan 29) to Saturday, April 13 (Shawwal 3). If the calculations are accurate, the dates are shown below. If one takes into account the Sunday weekend, then that is a break of six days.
