It is implemented in 24 locations across the country, with the purpose of determining the weights of trucks while they are in motion. This includes 12 gates that have been implemented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, as well as 12 gates that have been implemented by the Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi. This indicates that the smart gates will operate completely electronically. It is equipped with a variety of sensors, a measuring device known as a "3D laser," and high-speed surveillance cameras that can achieve an accuracy of monitoring of up to 98%.
Adopting violations and weight tables next October

This will include a list of violations and administrative penalties that are scheduled to be applied to violators, and it will apply to more than 150,000 trucks coming from... Heavy vehicles already operating within the country, with the exception of heavy vehicles owned by the government. Because the total weight limit is greater than 65 tons, it has been decided to give businesses and the owners of heavy vehicles a period of four months from the beginning of the experimental application of the law, which will take place during the month of October next year, to bring their situations into conformity with the provisions and weights of the law. The actual implementation date of the vehicle weight scales law in the Emirates
