Dubai Authority has announced new standards for physiotherapy services
These recommendations detail requirements for healthcare institutions and personnel as well as performance metrics to guarantee patient-centered treatment.
The health authorities of Dubai has stated that new standards have been established for physiotherapy services in the emirate.
According to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), these standards outline requirements for medical institutions and staff members as well as explain performance indicators to guarantee patient-centered care.
The establishment of standards is in keeping with the strategic vision of the authority, according to Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the DHA's Health Regulation Sector, which aims to ensure continual progress in the provision of health services.
He expressed gratitude to the Emirates Physiotherapy Society of the Emirates Medical Association for its assistance in creating the standards.
According to Dr. Hanan Obaid, director of the DHA's Health Policies and Standards Department, the objective of this guidance is to standardise the physiotherapy services offered by all medical facilities in the emirate in accordance with global best practises.
According to Dr. Obaid, the requirements also include information on patient referral and education, bearing in mind the highest standards of health and safety in the industry.
The Emirates Physiotherapy Society's president, Dr. Naima Saleh, stated: "Physiotherapy treatments help to repair and lessen the effects of illness and damage. Patients' health deteriorates and their quality of life suffers when these services are delayed or not sought after.
